FYI Notifications are down, both email and "the bell"...

Whilst working on stuff this morning an hour ago, I noticed my ready to ship count had gone up by two from what it was earlier in the morning, however no email notifiations, nor "red bell" notification. There were two sales to same customer, one from .COM, one from .CA. (Funds were received for the sales)

If I hover my cursor over the "notifications bell" it says "We ran into a problem and can't show your notifications right now.". (Both .COM and .CA)

I'm simply mentioning this so you are aware. It might just be this one sale and/or me.

Addendum, whilst typing this up, an auction winner paid as well (.CA) nothing from that either so it's not simply (for me) just the one customer....

Was this app or pc related? Just confirmed with another seller and they got the ding for a sale overnight. Fully functional.

There is (as per always) major lag with emails.....outside email always first...ebay emails later. The proverbial eBay tape delay system of messaging.

I had an order at 9:54am EDT this morning come in...I got a notification from the app it sold.

Got it all ready to go, and I usually use the get label link from the e-mail notification (desktop) and haven't got an e-mail yet.

Edit: "Paid ship now" link in ebay desktop notifications (the bell) works for me without any error messages.  Just email is delayed or missing.

Can't comment on the "bell" I have that on permanent ignore so I would never notice if it was working or not.

As far as email notifications of sales, I got one just after midnight, two around 6:00am and another one in the past 5 minutes. All were within a couple of mnutes of the sale.

Just checked the Bell, it's showing 5 sales which includes the 4 from today and one from yesterday.

Desktop....I have a phone (no SIM card), never installed the eBay App on it.

From my understanding (not sure of the date) but bell stopped working on pc a few years ago. At times I miss it. My standard go to is check my gmail account for anything important. Then I confirm payment within eBay. Sadly, majority of any of my bell alerts are sellers sending me offers for items i did a lookiloo to as part of research. It could be any issues users are having are browser related. There have been several "important" updates recently.

Even though I said  have the bell on ignore, what I really meant was that I rarely if ever click or hover on it. It has almost got some sort of number beside it except when it's slow time and there is nothing for it to report or I have just finished doing my shipping.

I've never heard anyone else say the bell dosn't work (for an extended period of time).

No, the "bell notifier" as a dedicated desktop notification feature on eBay is not a current feature. However, you can still receive notifications for your eBay activity through email or by setting up notifications within the eBay app on your phone. You can also enable email alerts for saved searches on the eBay website. 

Looks like it happened sometime in 2020 for the PC according to dot com discussions. When users inspected the address they had non supported certificate messages.

Was away from the office today....

At this time both are back normal again for me.

The email notifications caught up, and the "red bell" had the red "6" on top of it (4 sales, 2 messages) so that is working again too. (Apologies for calling it a red bell, the numbers over the bell that are red is what I normally see)

Hmmm apologies, I spoke too fast, I've been working on today's orders and I've discovered:

The 4 missing emails did not arrive yet.

I'm not sure if the "red bell count of 6" was correct, I think it should have been higher now. 

Susequent purchases have all come through ok in all ways.

Looks like a short glitch, maybe only affecting me.
