Hi, I have a strange problem here. I got an order from Israel, printed the label on Aug 13. Brought the item to the post office the same day. The package has been returned, because since AUG 14 Canada Post doesn't ship anymore to Israel. I contacted the CP to get a refund and I was refused. Any suggestion, what to do?

SP Air, the only available.
They told me, it's my responsibility to verify they ship there, or not. But I shipped 1 day before they announced the suspension.

An update. I contacted another agent, and I got the refund immediately.
I suppose the first one had a problem with Israel in general, because he/she was rude.
I was told it's my responsibility to check, and my request is rejected.
And yes, I verified if they ship, because I already had the same problem a few months ago.
There was no warning at all on Aug 13!
Now compare the dates! And the item has been accepted at the counter without any question.

According to dot com discussion Isreal was blocked (excluded) as a ship to since Nov 2023
No. You'll find Israel has been automatically been placed on the exclusions list on the shipping tab until things change. The buyer will not be able to make the purchase.
Is it possible that it wasn't turned on correctly for Canadian sellers? devon@ebay Possibly eBay tools tripping over each other.
By this dot com discussion/announcement Isreal was blocked Nov 2023. Was unable to find anywhere if the announcement had any revisions has been made since. Only that USPS (similar to CP) shipments would not be accepted and/or returned.
According to help on both ca and com Isreal does not come up as "Embargoed". Only the following countries do.
eBay is not allowing shipping to Israel at this time due to the war. There is no reliable postal delivery and postal insurance will not cover deliveries in war zones.

Found this on Pirateship page and how it relates to USPS/UPS shipments. Wonder if CP has this info hidden somewhere on 1 of their pages. According to it UPS may still be a possibily but with limited service options and not great transit times.

Yes, Israel was blocked in November. I had a buyer from Haifa - he has complained he is blocked (was able to buy, but not able to send the payment). Finally, I did cancel the transaction.
But this time everything went smoothly - item purchased, paid, and shipped.
And yes - I did verify if CP ships to Israel. On 13 Aug there was no warning anywhere.
The first agent lied - told me, the warning was posted before Aug 14, even is it says "posted on Aug 14".

It seems to routinely happen where a policy will be implemened on dot com but it will either arrive in tape delay mode or not correctly on ca. It's been a pattern as of the last few years.

Probably not that case, because since 25 years I list and sell exclusively on Ebay.com (tried Ebay.de in the past, but without success). I never listed on Ebay.ca.

Perhaps, but in this case it has nothing to do with eBay. That Israel block was temporary and i'm sure that at the time, it was added to excluded countries on both sites. Right now USPS ships there as well as EIS.
The problem that the op had was with Canada Post as they decided to block Israel.
In the past, ebay does not automatically block a country when there is a disruption in service as there are often other services that the seller can use. It is up to the seller to block so sellers using Canada Post may want to block Israel for now.

Was nice the announcement regarding Isreal was posted on com but nothing on ca. Par for the course when it comes to any kind of disruptions to Canadian sellers. And then the appropriate thing to do is update the status if/when things change.
ca - Nada!!!

Same date as the announcement you posted from the .com site.

Yes, guys, but it was last year issue - the same country, but another disruption.

Yes, it’s a different disruption which was considered by eBay to be wide-ranging rather than specific to one carrier, thus the eBay-implemented block. I’m not sure why Lotz brought it up, but they believed that it was only announced on the .com site.
Agree it would be useful for eBay to announce this new disruption as they often do with ones involving our publicly-owned postal service.

Unfortunately, this is not the end of the story. The buyer asked me to ship the item anyway, by another carrier. I just contacted ChitChats (Asendia USA) - will see, if they ship to Israel. 🙄
I don't see any warnings on Asendia or USPS wesites. Is this Canada Post only?

When I looked yesterday there was an older warning on the usps site that says there may be delays for shipments to Israel. I didnt see anything else about Israel.

A suggestion for something to put into your back pocket in case this doesn't work out, you could ask them if there's a forwarding service (such as MyUS) that they sometimes use to get items out to them.

I will buy ChitChats insurance for this item. It seems Asendia and USPS ship there, they only issued a warning about possible delays. I am still waiting for the official confirmation.

FedEx announced Aug 20 that they were resuming service to Israel.

Update: item shipped by Asendia (ChitChats). I got an official permission from Asendia USA.
Here their announcement:
Israel Postal Company is continuing to provide all postal services, inbound and outbound, countrywide. In the areas most heavily impacted by the conflict, the necessary measures have been taken to ensure that all postal items are delivered to customers including address forwarding and extending the retention period for unclaimed items to 30 days before they are returned.
