A buyer has purchased an item from us who is located in argentina but when i went to buy a shipping label through ebay it says to check if the parcel size is within limits (it is) and if the address is correct. Does anyone know if theres a formatting difference between canada and argentina that is causing this and how to fix it?

Just though i'd give an update. I took the package with the shipping address and customs info into the post office and they were able to sort it out there and then i manually added the tracking to ebay.

Try using your SnapShip account (VentureOne/ Solutions for Small Business) to see if the address is acceptable there.

You don't have to follow through. This is to make the comparison.
I don't believe there are any embargos on mail to Argentina.
Does Google Maps show anything odd about the address?

i googled the formatting of argentina addresses and adjusted so it looks the same and its still giving the same message when i try to purchase the label

the message appearing when i try to purchase the label is "Sorry, we were not able to generate the label. Please make sure the parcel size is within allowed limits, and both addresses are correct." I am at a loss here i feel like ive tried everything

Check for unusual letters or a line too long. It happens occassionally to me, too.

Unsure if this is applicable but there are limited options according to the CP webiste for shipping to Argentina. You may also want to view any special requirements enclosed depending on the item you are sending. See CP link attached. Shipping by tracked is not an option.
International destination listing | Canada Post (canadapost-postescanada.ca)
Format for how the address should appear.

Unfortunately with ebay they use a 1 size fits all when it comes to addressing formats. Notes a limit of 40 characters. per line so you may need to get creative and still be accurate.

What service are you attempting to use and what is the weight/size of the package?
eBay provided error messages have a history of being vague.

i am using canada post xpresspost international size is 1.05kg 36x30x15cm

You may want to go to a Canada Post outlet and check what shipping options and cost there are to ship it to Argentina as a check against what ebay shipping is offering.

You could ship untracked but I wouldn't recommend that. Best bet would be Xpresspost and 1.05 Kg would be in the guidelines. Is it going to a major city or out in the boonies?
I've seen addresses to a few random countries where mile markers and intersections were in play.

NO!
But you may not be able to use eBay's labels.
So think outside that box and buy your label through SnapShip using your Solutions for Small Business number-- do you have one?
Then you put the tracking number into eBay's Orders list.
It's a problem-- but there is a solution.

Based on the measurements the shipping with eBay labels would be 118.00 approx. Level 1 would be around 175.00 Substantial difference. If discounts were turned on it would be a major ding for seller.

Good stuff. Did you have a Canada Post SBS card for a bit of a discount? If not, they are free and you can ask at the post office for one.
