is the new seller hub going to be mandatory??

I just relisted an item , then when it flashed back to my ebay page, it was like I entered the 3rd dimension,, wow,  talk about overwhelming.. I hope this isn't the new seller hub, I only got to see it shortly, but nothing is where it is supposed to be.. it is like when they switched over the message boards, but 10 times worse.. I am worried.. too old for so many changes all at once..

It wasn’t terrible to behold but it was an unpleasant surprise. I like sameness.

Not true. I HAD TO opt in, otherwise I was not able to access my selling page. It forced me to do it. How can I get back?

You didn't see that check box underneath it that said, "Not at this time" or whatever the exact words were? Are you at a desktop, or maybe using a tablet?

Sorry, it said: "not right now" https://community.ebay.ca/t5/Seller-Central/Start-Using-Seller-Hub-but-I-cannot-yet-when/td-p/400015... and it wasn't a check box it was just a linked text thing.

Re: is the new seller hub going to be mandatory??

I'm at a desktop and it had that link, yes, but when I clicked on it, it always brought me back to the page forcing me to look at the hub. But fortunately, I've found the "Opt out" button. I rarely went to my .com hub because I hate it.

I am leery when I see "opt out", it reminds me of GSP (Global Shopping Program).  Why does eBay needs to offer us this new offer??  Is there something wrong with our selling which we have been selling for 10 years and now eBay is finding to offer this offer for what? More problems or what??  Is it going to cost us any fees?

Re: is the new seller hub going to be mandatory??

I do not have a store on eBay...only use the monthly 50 free listings and whatever free listing promos offered, and occasionally use the 50 free listings on .COM, and I have been using the Seller Hub on .COM for a year now and there are many features I do like including the ability to see ALL of my Draft mode listings-not just the first 20, as well as being able to copy listings in Draft mode.

There is a lot about the Seller Hub that holds no value or is beneficial to me but I I have no problems ignoring those features. I agree that it is a pain having to be logged into both sites all the time and having to switch back and forth, so I look forward to seeing how the New Seller Hub on .CA will make things work better.  I expect there will be an "Opt out" button same as on .COM which gives sellers the option to switch back and forth until such time when eBay makes it mandatory.

Re: is the new seller hub going to be mandatory??

I haven't received any type of info about how to change to sellers hub either. Like you, I don't feel any need to change to it unless there is some sort of benefit and it doesn't sound like there is.

Re: is the new seller hub going to be mandatory??

Yes, but is it worth paying for Seller Manager Pro vs using Sellers Hub when it becomes available to everyone? Wonder if they are considering scrapping Pro in the future or maybe offer it for free? Orrrr are they going to start charging for Sellers Hub? Sorry, another random thoughtsee_no_evil. Ebay is making me paranoid. I need more coffee!!

You have a choice to opt out of the new seller hub. I didn't like it so clicked on the opt out button. If I decide I want it later I can opt back in.

This is how I still  feel about Seller Hub, and I've been using it (i.e. putting up with it) for months now on .com.   Like you, I actually find it more, not less difficult to get at the important things I want on Seller Hub, even with customization.

I forced myself to adapt to Seller Hub because I figured we've eventually have no other choice on eBay and I'd better grit my teeth and get used to it, but it honestly isn't a better design.

Two weeks now since the Hub roll-out began and still no sign of it's arrival here. I'm either lucky or being ignored ...

I just got hubbed this morning..... I've been using it on .COM "forever" so the biggest pain for me is avoiding all the tutorials it wants to keep giving me.....

Re: is the new seller hub going to be mandatory??

I just phoned eBay to follow up on when they thought I and others might have Seller's Hub. They advised me it's still being "rolled out" and they had no idea when we would have it and there is nothing they can do to speed up the process. On another front they are aware of the fact that a lot of the help links on dot ca don't work. A ticket has been issued and they are "working on it". In the meantime if anyone has specifics on what exactly is included in the paid version of Selling Manager Pro and if it is worth the expense, please pass it on. It would be greatly appreciated. Only info am able to confirm is the cost. Another link that not available at my end.

PS. Is there a new version of Ebay available for download? grimacing

Now if there was a way to find out the tickets that have been actually opened and the ones that have been resolved, we'd be back in business. (Chorus of Dreamer, nothing but a dreamer in the background.)

Unless something has changed since March of 2017, all store subscription levels include Selling Manager Pro at no additional charge. The primary difference between the two versions is that Pro includes the ability to create and save Products and Templates. There is supposed to be additional traffic reports but those stopped functioning the last 8 or 9 months I had a store. So if you see the Create Product function you're already using the Pro version. Imo the Product/ Inventory tool included with the Pro version is a clumsy, confusing mishmash.... close to useless.

There were a few small things I missed when I went back to the standard free Selling Manager but nothing major.
I sure would never consider paying a monthly subscription just to access Selling Manager Pro.
